SYRIAN GILDED KHANJAR JAMBIYA DAGGER

DESCRIPTION
An antique khanjar or jambiya dagger manufacured probably in Syria, approximately in the 1800s. The buffalo horn handle is carved in shape of human faces. The strong, curved, double-edged steel blade is decorated with gold koftgari work. The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and fitted with steel mounts, decorated with fine silver koftgari work.

CONDITION
The knife is in untouched antique condition with some signs of wear. The horn handle shows some cracks and the steel blade has some dark pitted areas. The knife fits tightly and well in its scabbard.
