FINNISH MEDAL OF WINTER WAR FOR FOREIGNERS
FINNISH 1940S
Commemorative medal of the Finnish Winter War 1939 for a foreigner volunteer. This medal, made of blackened iron was the trooper class. Notice that the medal for foreigners differs from the regular Winter War medal by size and background text. This example with swords was given to a Swedish volunteer participating in war and was awarded with the bar LAPPI (Lapland). The medal comes with its original paperbag with the name of the participant. Rare medal with provenance and mint condition.
