An interesting Rajasthan buckler shield made of steel, covered with painted, boiled and tooled leather. The colourful and hard leather surface is embossed with imitations of small jewels one can see on courtly royal shields of the Mughal period. The center is depicted with a Rajput face. The shield is in beautiful antique condition with original liner and handles.
