NORTH EUROPEAN CAVALRY TROOPER SWORD
CAVALRY TROOPER SWORD
North Europe / c. 1680–1700
An antique steel-hilted cavalry sword with a diamond-sectioned steel blade. The large-sized crossguard comprises plate guards and a thumb ring. The pommel is decorated with twisted pattern. The iron binding of the handle seems to be later, probably from the 19th century. The crossguard is engraved with initials ‘R. A.’. The sword is in overall nice, patinated condition.
