PERSIAN JAMBIYA DAGGER

A fine, silver-mounted persian Jambiya dagger, manufactured somewhere in the mid-19th century. The blade is smooth with a tight and intricate damascus pattern. The scabbard is wooden and covered in leather with floral silver mount decorations. The chape’s mounts are pierced and colored with red foil. This dagger seems to be an exception of jambiyas, which typically have hilts made of walrus tooth.
