SYRIAN SILVER-DECORATED KARD KNIFE

DESCRIPTION

A fine vintage kard knife manufactured probably in Syria, approximately in the 1930s. The steel handle and scabbard are decorated with fine silver koftgari work featuring floral and bird motifs. The unfullered steel blade displays a false Damascus pattern. The blade is unsharpened, suggesting that the knife was originally intended primarily for decorative use. The scabbard is lined with red velvet.

CONDITION

The knife is in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and wear. The knife fits well in its scabbard.
